Still Time To

Enter Bland

There is still time for student vocalists and instrumentalists to participate in the concert program at The Theatre in Washington, Va. scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23.

The Rappahannock Lions Club has sponsored annual Bland Music Contests for many years as part of a state-wide program dedicated to encouraging young musicians to develop their personal skills and to show-case their talents.

Students musicians are eligible to participate if they reside in Rappahannock or are attending school in the county. Registration forms are available at school offices, the library, from private music teachers or Lion Club members. The Lion Bland Chairman must receive completed registration by Feb. 20.

Cash awards to the winners and certificates of participation to all performers will be contributed by the Lions Club. A distinguished panel of musical experts including Kathy Kneupfer, Melody Hackney, Emma Sue Amos and Leslie Nichols will evaluate the individual performances. For information contact Mike Mahoney at 675-3446 or Bob Scott >37-2147.
