will take a total team effort, covering each other’s mistakes and pulling together on key points."
Only two teams qualify for the JV tournament at George Mason, and that will also pit Rappahannock against Brentsville, but unlike the varsity, the JV has no experience in defeating Brentsville. Monday night Brentsville defeated Rappahannock's JV 15-5, 1512.
Last Thursday the JV easily defeated George Mason 15-1, 15-2. Coach Heidi Maeyer was very pleased with that effort, especially since it followed an away loss to Stonewall Jackson the night before. ”1 was pretty hard on them, and they needed it,” she said, of her talk with the girls following the loss to the Shenandoah Valley school.
Against George Mason then the girls "played up to their potential," she said. She was able to get all her players into the game.
Against Brentsville Monday night, Coach Maeyer said the Brentsville team was more ready for the match. "The first game should have been closer," Coach Maeyer said. "In the second game we had an 8-point lead and let them come back. It was a hard loss."
However, she noted that her team went from a two win, 10-loss record
