At its evening session, the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors approved the request by Paul Newcamp for a special use permit to have a taxidermy operation in the basement of his home.
The Planning Commission had approved and forwarded the request for approval to the Board at their last meeting.
The Board had no additional questions above the information that had previously been presented and unanimously approved the application. Mr. Newcamp informed the Board that he is getting a local license, since he has been informed he needs one, of which he had been unaware.
At its afternoon session the Board briefly discussed the draft for amendments to the Conservation Zoning District regulations made by the Planning Commission to the Board and approved a motion to consider amendments to the Erosion and Sedimentation Control Law. They directed County Administrator John McCarthy to continue and work with the Commission to draft a final proposal from the Commission to the Board.
Mr. McCarthy said this simply puts their amendments into play and allows them to go back and work with the draft. He also said that in order to make sense out of the amendments they must pertain to the Erosion and Sediment Control Plan, and this falls under the Board.
The Board also approved the Monday, April 28 as the date for the School Budget Public Hearing. It will be held at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock High School auditorium. They also approved a work session with the School Board for the following evening April 29 at the courthouse.
