Virginia Lindstrom has a lot of fond memories from living nearly all of her 92 years in Rappahannock County.
She is moving into a retirement home this week from her home on Mt. Salem Avenue in Washington where she has resided for 53 years. She’ll have a private room and has the option of having breakfast in bed daily.
Mrs. Lindstrom was bom in Rappahannock in 1905 and moved, with her family, to Crest Hill in Fauquier County for 13 years when she was three-months-old. When she returned to Rappahannock, her family lived at “Walnut Lodge,” on U.S. 211 between Washington and Sperryville, the present home of Billy and Barbara Wayland.
She attended Sperryville High School (presently the Sperryville Emporium), and graduated from there. There were five children in her class, she said, including Dr.
