3) Entomology — taught by Lyt Wood, local arborist and owner of the site of this year’s camp. Will find bugs, beetles, butterflies and moths in their natural habitats and explore their relationships with the birds, flowers, trees, streams and human beings at Singing Creek. Ages 11 and up — adults welcome.
Session II, June 30-July 11, Nature Study and Exploration for Girls and Boys, ages 7-11, will give campers a chance to explore forests, fields, rivers, ponds and swamps. Identifications of local wildlife will be introduced to an informal atmosphere. The camp’s staff strives to provide new knowledge and natural history skills while emphasizing the fun and adventure of being outdoors. The program is active and outdoors, and there is a large shed for indoor activities in case of rainy weather. Nature crafts.
