Thanks to the Heroes
Every community has heros. And, they’re not always whom you might think they would be. None of us knows whether or not we have what it takes to help someone in need in an emergency situation until we are faced with one.
Certainly the members of the volunteer fire and rescue organizations prove time and again their willingness to help others in need. They are always there when we need them most and make responding to crisis situations part of their daily life.
But, there are also those people who have no training from volunteer fire and rescue units and respond to others in need of help. This past week four members of the Rappahannock community did just that.
Three of them put their lives at risk to do so. They are to be commended for their bravery, willingness to help and the overall heroic effort they put forth.
SWCD Deserves Praise
The Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District is to be applauded for their efforts on behalf of the youth of the district. Every year they sponsor programs for elementary and high school students to teach them about the preservation of our natural resources.
All the issues they address affect this county. By teaching youth about these issues they help shape the adults of tomorrow and educate them to be responsible for the environment. Here, where almost every day you hear someone discussing how environmental issues impact on this county, their dedication to those issues is especially relevant.
Bravo! to all the folks at CSWCD. And, a big thank you for all your hard work.
