He stressed the fact that his grandmother gave him the appreciation for History and his Heritage. He recalled that from the age of 10 that she took him on Sunday afternoon rides and told stories—he recalled being a “captive audience” then and getting really tired of hearing the same stories over and over. But today he knows that her interest in him and his own heritage has directed his entire life, and he remembers her with the greatest gratitude.
