is kind of a heroine for the Historical Society.” She added that Mrs. Lindstrom really worked to get the Historical Society building moved and restored, and that she was also very involved with the town’s bicentennial celebration in 1986. She donated money to the historical society and the main research room in the building is named in honor of her first husband, Brooke Miller.
The county library was first organized in 1963. Mrs. Lindstrom worked with Dotsie Davis to get the building restored for the library. She remained on the library board until 1981.
She was most recently married to Reginald (Rex) Lindstrom for 10 years; he passed away in 1988. Mrs. Lindstrom said it is not fun to live alone. “I like a good husband,” she said.
Though she will be living in Front Royal now, Betty Estes (Pete’s wife) has promised to take her to the Beauty Box in Washington every two weeks to have Darlene Moore do her hair. So she’ll still be around town.
