He also informed the Board that the Extension Agent position vacated by Helen Smith will not be funded through June of ‘97, but the budget shows the position will be there next year.
Board Chairman Hubert S. Gilkey accepted the position to work with the Mobile Home Effort with Fauquier County. A member of the Planning Commission will also be needed to sit on that board. Mr. McCarthy was appipnted to the Rappahannock Project Steering Committee and Supervisor Ron Frazier was elected an alternate to the PD9 Executive Committee.
The Board approved a motion to allow former county employees who retire to participate in Medicare Complimentary Coverage. It is a benefit to former employees and costs the county nothing. The accounts were approved and Mr. McCarthy was formally thanked for all his hard work.
