The Rappahannock Natural History Day Camp will be held from June 23 through July 11 this year.
The camp is sponsored by PEC (Piedmont Environmental Council) and RLEP (Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection) and will again be held at Singing Creek, home of local forester Lyt Wood. It is located on Route 600 in Sperryville bordered by the Hazel River, open fields, lush woodlands and easy access to Shenandoah National Park. The camp has been held here for several years because it provides such a wealth of nature activities for the campers.
This year’s directors will be Trish Drake, naturalist, and Bobette Swindler of Sperryville as co-director. Visiting guests and naturalists will add their expertise to the staff. Also, local high school and college students will add to the fun.
