The second annual Earthfest conceit to celebrate Earth Day ‘97 will be held at C.M. Crockett Park’s ampitheatre on Saturday, April 19, from noon to 7 p.m. Eleven local youth bands will perform. The $3 admission will benefit construction of the new nature center at the park.
Benefit Bake Sale Set
A bake sale to benefit Piedmont Feline Rescue League will be held on Saturday, April 12 at the Rappahannock Farmers Coop from 7:30 a.m. until 12 noon. Homemade pies, cakes, cookies and breads will be available. To order or for additional information call Sharon at 987-8857 or Doris at 937-5224.
RCHS Boosters To Meet

Fodderstack Race Set
On Saturday, April 26 at 10 a.m. the 19th annual Fodderstack 10-K Race will be held in Rappahannock County. Sponsored by the Rappahannock County Recreational Facilities Authority, the race starts in the Village of Flint Hill and passes over the lovely scenery and rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, finishing in historic Washington. Pre-registration fees are $14 by mail, postmarked by April 19. Post-registration will be $17 no later than 9:30 a.m. the morning of the race. Fees will be payable at the starting point. Benefit Auction Planned
The annual Rappahannock Lions Club benefit auction will be held on Saturday, May 10 at 6 p.m. at the Washington Fire Hall. Anyone wishing to donate items should contact Roger Andrews, 987-8974 or Hal McDermott, 675-1028.
Productions at Ki Theatre
What would you hear if you could put Emily Dickinson, Edgar Allan Poe, Gertrude Stein and Tennessee Williams together in the same room? On Saturday, April 12 at Ki Theatre, local actress Dinah Pehrson Day, director Fran Sackett and the Live Arts Theater Ensemble bring these four powerful pioneers of American literature together on stage to explore that question in an original production of ‘Yes is What You Want: A Legacy of Literary Genius.’
The performance will be at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8 and may be purchased at Mountainside Market, or may be reserved by calling 675-1616.
RCES PTO Bicycle Raffle
The Rappahannock County Elementary School PTO is holding a raffle to benefwthe 7th grade trip to Williamsburg. The prizes are one Girl’s 24” 10-Speed Mountain Style Bicycle and one Boy’s 24” 10-Speed Mountain Style Bicycle. Tickets cost $1 each or $20 for 25 tickets. The PTO reserves the right to exchange the prizes if one or both of the bicycles are unsuitable. Tickets are available in the school office. Beginners Glass Class Set

Spring Event Planned
The Washington Baptist Church Spring Event will be held Saturday, April 26. Thefe will be a Silent Auction, plants, baked goods, sandwiches, drinks and Grandma’s Attic. All proceeds from this event will go toward the building fund. Cash donations will also be accepted.
