Board Chair Hubert S. Gilkey said the Board had looked at that before and he had been in favor of it but it had not passed.
Mr. McCarthy said the Board had looked at a business license tax in the past but the revenue generated would only have been about $10,000 at that time and that did not include administrative costs. They therefore felt it was not the thing to do at that time. He said that maybe the Board should look at a business licensejtax again to see what the amount at present would be and if it would be worth the county pursuing it as a form of generating additional revenue.
