Of the 119 accidents, seven resulted in fatalities, three in Rappahannock and four in Culpeper.-The statistics for Route 28, during the same period, are double that at 14 fatalities., but the traffic count on Route 28 is more than 10 times that of Route 729.
The accidents on Route 729 also resulted in injuries to 65 people in 'Culpeper Taa* 38 "' people In Rappahannock. There is no statistic relative to the severity of the injuries.
Property damages for the Culpeper accidents totaled $383,585. In Rappahannock the property damage for the 30 accidents totaled 127,000, a total of $510, 585.
Jackson District Supervisor Ron Frazier said he would like to see the speed limit on Route 729 and Route 642 lowered to 45 mph. He said if Route 628 in Fauquier qualifies for a 45 mph speed limit then these two roads certainly should.
