To The Editor:
The picture of May 28 in the editorial section concerns me greatly. As a friend of Mary Beth’s I find this greatly offensive. If at the time of the accident these two young ladies had a choice, take another route or play chicken with death, I’m sure they would have taken another route. But accidents happen, as tragic as this one was. If this article was to try and prevent others from driving fast and making fatal mistakes, I don’t think they need to see a cartoon to do this. All anyone has to do is think of the great loss of these young women to remind them, especially in a community that was so greatly affected by their deaths. Mary Beth was a wonderful person; she touched many lives and hearts.
In my opinion this picture was insensitive to the feelings of the family and friends of the victims of this 1 road. The tragic death of Mary Beth

I cannot believe that this picture was allowed and approved to be admitted in the paper. This is a community paper, a community that for a long time will mourn for the loss of these young women.
