Bicycle Parade Planned

Children in the area are invited to participate in the annual bicycle parade in the Town of Washington on the Fourth of July. Prizes will be awarded for the “most patriotically decorated.” The parade is open to children from birth to 14 years of age. Children in strollers and in wagons are invited. The lineup starts at 4:15 p.m. behind the jail; the parade starts at 4:30 p.m. For further information, contact Ellen Manson, parade organizer, 675-1349.

Softball Clinic Scheduled

A three-day softball clinic will be taking place at RCHS on June 11, . 12 and 13. The Intermediate Clinic will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon (one and two years team experienced) and the Advanced Clinic ( three years and over team experience) will be from 12:30 to 4 p.m. each day. Skills to be covered include defense, hitting and bunting, and baserunning. $.50 fee includes T-shirt and benefits RCHS softball. Registration limited to 15, so call Linda Dennis at 636-4411 or Rose Ann Sharp at 675-3887.

Teen Leaders Needed

4-H Teens and/or Teen Counselors interested in being a teen leader at 1 the Rappahannock County 4-H Day Camp the week of June 23-27, 1997 \ at the 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal should call the Extension Office at 675-3619. The age for Teen Counselors is 13 through 19.

A.V.F.D. Carnival Set

The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will have its annual Firemen’s Carnival June 25 through June 28. The parade will be held on Thursday, June 26. Those interested in entering should contact J.B. Carter at 937-4218.
