Health Program Scheduled

The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board invites persons 60 years of age and older to participate in the following Health Promotion/Screening Programs to be held at the Rappahannock Senior Nutrition Center:

Program on Smart Nutritional Choices by Carleta Cephas at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 9; Program on the difference between Medicare and Medicaid by Department of Social Sejwices at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11 and Blood Pressure Check by Melinda Beach of the Health Department at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18.

Soccer League Picnic Planned

The Rappahannock Soccer League will have their annual picnic on Saturday, June 7 at 6 p.m. at the Rappahannock Park. For information call Maggi Pearcy at 987-8215.

Country Ham Dinner

There will be a fried country ham dinner on Saturday, June 7 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Jeffersonton Community Center. The dinner also includes gravy, biscuits, potatoes, green beans, home fried apples, and a dessert. Prices are $6.95 for adults, $3.95 for children, and $2.50 for children's hot dog dinner. As well as helping our Center, 50 percent of the proceeds will go to the Little Fork Volunteer Fire Department.

Queen Contestant Sought

The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Departments are currently seeking queen contestants for their annual carnival which will be held July 23-26. Anyone with interest should contact Connie Huff-Harris at 6753389. Also anyone interested in entering the parade should call Buddy Ttimmeyer at 635-8278.

Discover Historic Culpeper

On June 6, 7 and 8 the Museum of Culpeper History will host its second annual History Weekend. Open to the public at no charge from 10 until 4, on Saturday, June 7, the town of Culpeper will be filled with Civil War Living History, military reenactments, camp life and cannon demonstrations. Ticketed events will include a Friday night Gala Reception at an antebellum home. Historic House Tour, Two Guided Bus Tours and a Saturday night Banquet with guest speaker.
