Bicycle Parade Planned
Children in the area are invited to participate in the annual bicycle parade in the Town of Washington on the Fourth of July. Prizes will be awarded for the “most patriotically decorated.” The parade is open to children from birth to 14 years of age. Children in strollers and in wagons are invited. The lineup starts at 4:15 p.m. behind the jail; the parade starts at 4:30 p.m. For further information, contact Ellen Manson, parade organizer, 675-1349.
Summer Gathering Planned

Meditation, Drumming Program Set
On Friday, June 13, Rappahannock Healing Arts Center in Spenyville will offer two evening programs: A mini-yoga setsang (gathering) from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. will include breathing exercises, meditation and chanting. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a sitting pillow if you wish. A drumming session will commence at 7:45, focusing on inner and group listening. Bring a drum or percussion item if you have one. Both programs are facilitated by Ivan Ussach, drummer and certified yoga instructor. Call 987-8872 for details.
Softball Clinic Scheduled
A three-day softball clinic will be taking place at RCHS on June 12 and 13. The Intermediate Clinic will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon (one and two years team experienced) and the Advanced Clinic ( three years and over team experience) will be from 12:30 to 4 p.m. each day. Skills to be covered include defense, hitting and bunting, and baserunning. $50 fee includes T-shirt and benefits RCHS softball. Life Enrichment Series Continues
The Rappahannock Healing Arts Center continues its Life Enrichment Series with a presentation by Bertha Scholten, M.Ed., LPC, June 18 at 7 p.m., entitled “Align Yourself with Universal Law for Comfort and Abundance.” On June 25, Ivan Ussach will offer a program entitled “Breath Power.” The Center is located at 11945 Lee Highway in Sperryville.
