It Just Right
To the Editor:
Rappahannock County doesn’t look like any other place on earth. It doesn’t look like any other county in the Virginia Piedmont. For over twenty years I’ve been studying it, trying to figure out just what quality, or combination of qualities, make it so special. I still don’t know. Perhaps, as my husband Scott said recently, “When God created Rappahannock, He got it just right.”
I applaud our Planning Commission for their sensitivity to that ‘specialness’, and their efforts to preserve it.

To the Editor:
The May 15 Orange County Review editorial page asked “What is the most important issue for the candidate to focus on?" Of the four people who were asked, Wayne Modena’s answer best summed up their responses: “Education and safety for our young people.”
Why did Mr. Modena connect education with safety? What does safety have to do with learning calculus or Latin or history? Unfortunately, nowadays it has everything to do with it.
