The Grand Jury handed down two indictments last week in Rappahannock County Circuit Court. Jerry William Cloniget Sr. of Castleton was indicted on a charge of unlawfully and feloniously operating a motor vehicle on a public highway after having been declared a habitual offender. Michael Phillip Mitchell of Washington was indicted on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Cloniger will appear before the court on Nov. 20. He was released on $5,000 bond.
Mitchell, who took a 1983 Porsche 928 belonging to Edward Lentz without the owners consent and with “intent to temporarily deprive the owner of possession,” on or about Sept. 20, will appear in court on Dec. 4.

Pauline Scroggins, who had been charged with five counts of forgery and one count of fraud, was sentenced in accordance with a plea agreement to seven years: five years for one forgery charge; one year on another forgery charge; and one
