The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR, met on Nov. 11 at Mrs. Coxe’s Tavern in Washington for a luncheon meeting.
Previous to the meeting, 15 members gathered to pay respects at the graves of three deceased former members of the Chapter by marking the graves with the DAR symbol. Those honored were Mrs. Clifton B. Compton (Frances Geren Compton) at the Masonic Cemetery in Culpeper, Mrs. Bernard C. Inskeep (Anna Ruth Maddox Inskeep) at Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper and Mrs. Elmer W. Anderson (Frances Rixey Anderson) also at Fairview Cemetery.
After the luncheon, Mrs. Dale J. Metzinger, a chapter member and National Vice Chairman of Lineage Research, spoke on “Roots, Branches and 1\vigs”. Genealogy, she says, is like a detective story and is the second favorite hobby in the United States with the first being stamp collecting. She gave many , tips on how to go about researching ones lineage.
