Association of Counties has recognized the inevitable.
The association two months ago published a pamphlet sharply criticizing both gubernatorial candidates’ proposals to do away with the unpopular but much-needed source of local revenue. Days after the Republican’s 14-point victory, the association held the largest convention in its history, with 60 percent of the members of the boards of supervisors around the state in attendance.
