Developmental screening set
The Rappahannock County Public School System is sponsoring a free developmental screening for children birth to 21 years of age from 1 to 3 p.m. now through Nov. 26 at the elementary school. For more information call 987-8259 or go to the elementary school office between 1 and 3 p.m.
Video to be shown
The Parents’ Class at Rappahannock Elementary School will be viewing a video Thursday evening, Nov. 21 at 6:30 in the school library.
The video is based on the national bestseller, The ReadAloud Handbook. The author, Jim Trelease, shares some valuable information on reading comprehension. Moms and dads are invited to see this film.

Workshops offered
Stained Glass workshops, are being offered. Create a \ Christmas ornament and learn beginning stained glass on | Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Sperryville portrait artist, Ned Bittinger, will be signing copies of his beautifully illustrated children’s Christmas book, Rocking Horse Christmas, at The Corner Shelf Bookstore, Southgate Shopping Center, Culpeper as the highlight of the Southgate Merchant’s Holiday Open House, Sunday, Nov. 23 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Farmer's Market to close season
Sunday, Nov. 22 will be the last day of the season for the new Farmer’s Market in the barns on Route 245 just west of The Plains near Exit 31 of Route 66. Locally, Heidi Eastham and John and Lee Trott display their goods. The barns will be open Sunday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Performances scheduled
Workspace for Choreographers will present the LastMinute Wood Company in the premiere performances of two new works by Sally Nash, “20 words for. Snow” and “Savory” on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m. The performances will take place at Workspace for Choreographers in Sperryville.
