That has received the endorsement of Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Kate Hanley and of Del. Robert Hull (D-Falls Church).
The tradeoff would produce a significant benefit for Fairfax County, which is the state’s largest jurisdiction and the biggest collector of personal property taxes. According to school and county budget officials, the county would receive $285 million in additional state funding in exchange for giving up about $210 million in personal property tax revenues.
