Community Thanksgiving service set The annual Community Thanksgiving Service of the Washington area will be held this year at Washington Baptist Church on Thursday, Nov. 27 at 10 a.m. Rev. Jennings W. Hobson III, Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church will be the preacher while music will be provided by James Freeman Jr. of Promise Land Baptist Church and the adult choir of Washington Baptist Church. Everyone is invited to this program of thanksgiving and worship. This event is sponsored by the following area churches First Baptist Church, Flint Hill Baptist Church, Flint Hill United Methodist Church, Promise Land Baptist Church, Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church, Sperryville United Methodist Church, Washington Baptist Church and Willis Chapel United Methodist Church.

Special service planned The Dean Spiritualaires will be sponsoring a special service, O Give Thanks, on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Promise Land Baptist Church near Washington at 5 p.m. Rev. John R. Pendleton is the pastor. This will be a singing program and the proceeds will benefit some needy person or persons at Thanksgiving. All singing groups are welcome to participate and the public is invited.
