According to Bonnie Cordani, Rebecca’s mother, the situation was “at one point, extremely grave.”
When asked if her daughter would accept the School Board position, Bonnie Cordani replies, “She’d like to give it a try. A lot will depend on the health of this child. She needs to find out what it will entail time wise. She will be having a lot of conversations with people to figure things out.”
“She would like to at least try, but for the past three months, she couldn’t think of anything else but her child.”
Samuel Cordani weighs in at under nine pounds cur-' rently, but he has been doing well. He has a habit of losing and gaining weight that has to be monitored. But according to Bonnie Cordani, he looks good and is getting stronger. Nearly two weeks ago, the infant had a blood transfusion that has helped his situation.
When asked about her daughter accepting the candidacy, Bonnie Cordani says, “She has to focus on other things besides her child.”
