Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Clark were among those attending the lecture by Reed Engle who wrote a book on the history of the Civilian Conservation Corps. (C.C.C.) in Shenandoah National Park on Friday evening at the Old Sperryville Bookshop in Sperryville.
Mrs. Clark showed a picture she had of the men who were in camp at Beech Springs in which her dad Robert L. Frazier was among the group. A lot of local Rappahannock people are in the picture, just to name a few, Taylor Updike, Mr. Verner (Phylis Verner’s dad) and Willis Burke (uncle of Dorothy Hawkins).
Mrs. Clark loaned her picture to Mr. Engle to make a copy for himself for further use. Anyone that would like to see the picture that had a relative in camp there they may do so by calling 675-3608.
Our condolences to Mrs. Melody Young and sons in Culpeper on the death of her husband, Steve. Steve had been battling leukemia for a few years.
