The Harvest Fest at Amissville Baptist Church was a success, the kids had great fun and the best attraction was the clown (Lu Mcbee)! We can’t wait until next year.
The annual Thanksgiving Community Service, which has been held for over 20 years, by the community will be held on Wednesday Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. at Amissville Baptist Church. Everyone is invited to come and give thanks to the Almighty for how good he has been to us this year.
Every year the Amissville community churches, Baptist, Bethel Baptist, Methodist, along with the ruritans sponsor this service. We will be collecting canned goods to put in with the food baskets that are given out at Christmas. Each year the community pulls together and donates both fruit and food baskets to the elderly and shut-ins of our community. I know how much they enjoy this gift, as I helped to deliver the baskets and flowers last year. Mrs. Dorothy Hackley, has been in charge and is the backbone of this project.
