they do it, take photos of themselves and their efforts, write about their concerns (we’ve got to get organized, how can we get the membership more involved, how can we raise more money, we’re so screwed up, and on and on about things that every organization has been experiencing and talking about for hundreds of years, things that have never really been documented).
Maybe some group or patron would fund the visual recording of the county on a large scale, videotaping what the landscape looks like from the roadways, or maybe by aerial photography. The visual images could be used by the board of supervisors or planning commission or private groups or individuals for comparisons in the future. “Look at how Route 231 has changed.”
Maybe in the Year 2070 Amissville will look like downtown Bethesda today. Maybe entirely different modes of transportation will be used, and people in the future will be astonished at images of a rural countryside with wide highways. Maybe trends could be spotted early on and action taken to avoid spoiling the county.
