The sky is the limit with this activity. Your child may just give a short book report, or dress as a character and act out a scene, or read a poem, or make up and sing a song about a book. This may be done alone or as a group. If costumes or make-up are required for the performance these must be prepared at home. There will be only one rehearsal before the final performance. Please encourage your child to participate and help him or her to prepare. If you have additional questions or would like to offer assistance, please call Mrs. Theresa Light, Project Chairman, at 987-9523, or Jan Makela, Volunteer Coordinator, at 987-8259. This promises to be a very fun RCES Family Night!
• On Friday, Nov. 5, from 2-3:30 the kindergarten-fifth grade teachers at RCES met with a Math Consultant from the Silver Burdett Textbook Company for additional training in the use of this particular series...(just another example of our teachers’ commitment to excellence through continuous training).
• The RCES 2000 Student Calendars should be appearing in businesses throughout Rappahannock very soon. Please consider giving these wonderfully creative calendars as holiday gifts to family and friends! You will be pleasantly surprised when you see the quality of this incredible student-generated project. Many thanks to RCES teachers, Mrs. Harriette Rosenblatt and Mrs. Amy Gubler, and the corps of volunteers who assisted them! Among those wonderful volunteers were RCPS parents: Mrs. Denise Kruczynski, Mr. Kevin Nealon, Mrs. Linda Tarry, Mrs. Marietta Verrill, and Mrs. Jane Bowling-Wilson.
• Congratulations to the three RCHS Chorus Members who have advanced to the AllDistrict Choir for District 14! These talented girls are: Finnish Exchange Student, Emmi Salonen, Samantha Breeden and Katy Wilson. We are very proud of all of them.

• Mrs. Joy Rollins, Music Teacher at RCES, is a Cub Scout Leader for Pack 123 in Rappahannock when she is not teaching music or working with our Artist in Residency Program.
