Historical Society
to move its offices
I, The Rappahannock Historical f Society is vacating its ■ headquarters on Gay Street temporarily and moving its offices ' on Dec. 17 to the Old Washington School at 567 Mount Salem Avenue. The society’s offices will be closed Dec. 16 and 17 while making the move.
The temporary facilities at the Old Washington School will house the society’s research center while an addition is being put on the existing headquarters on Gay Street. That construction on the old building is to start in early January and wilt last several months.
Meanwhile, the society will keep its existing hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment on weekends. The phone number will stay the same: 675-1163.
The society’s offices will be open the first three days of Christmas week, Dec. 20, 21 and 22 and then will be in full swing after Christmas.
Blood drive slated
The Fauquier Chapter/ American Red Cross will sponsor a blood drive from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Washington fire hall on Monday, Dec. 20. For more information call 347-2550.
