Seeking donations

The Rappahannock County Department of Social Services is again accepting donations of food and money to assist families in need. Anyone wishing to make a donation may do so at the Social Services Office located on Gay Street in Washington or mail donations to P.O. Box 87, Washington, Va. 22747.

Beverly Leathers, Director, stated that “Rappahannock County has always responded very generously to ensure that our less fortunate citizens are remembered during this festive time of year.”

All donations are used to assist families, children and elderly that live in Rappahannock County. “Often people donate to causes and never know how the money was used or if it had a direct impact. When you donate here you can feel assured that you have given direct assistance to brighten the holidays for someone in your community."

The office is open daily from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and will close for Christmas on Dec. 22 at 4:30
