Decorate according to your lifestyle and % tastes. If you have a rambunctious two-yearold, perhaps setting candles on every available surface would not be a wise choice. On the other V hand, a few strategically placed (above reaching * level) votives will add greatly to the holiday ambiance.

When you do have guests coming, light a candle in the guest bathroom for that extra special touch. Even though scented candles are great and can be wonderful mood enhancers, the most versatile candles are the plain white votives, sticks and pillars that are unscented and —dripless.—

Along with the magical glow of candlelight, flowers always add to a festive get-together. Whether they are real, dried or silk, it is what you do with them that makes the difference.

With fresh flowers, you don’t have to rely on pre-arranged bouquets. Instead, go to the local florist and get what you want stem by stem. Get creative and use interesting containers to display your flowers. For fresh cut flowers, wrap a box in your favorite gift-wrap, leaving one end open, and place a regular vase inside the box. Or wrap ah empty mayonnaise jar with a small brown paper sack, tying dyed .raffia or ribbon around the top to make a unique vase. Heirloom teacups, colored glasses and other interesting containers can go a long way toward making your arrangements both original and beautiful.
