Ms. Morgan, a retired obgyn, lives in Flint Hill, has been involved in library affairs for some time, and noted that she used t^ run the library’s book sale. Mr. Little has lived in Amissville for four years, having come to the area from the Seattle, Washington area, where he was active in their library board.
New Children’s
Librarian selected
Library Director David Shaffer reported that Jennifer Glenn has been selected as Children’s Librarian, effective Jan. 3, 2000. Ms. Glenn worked for the past two years in the Wilmington Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library. Director Shaffer thanked Joy Sloane for engaging in the children’s story time in the absence of a children’s librarian.
Shaffer also reported that Brian Reardon of Blue Ridge Technologies has volunteered to provide computer assistance and Internet training at the library on Wednesday evenings. He will start after the first of the year.
Holiday closings
The library will close at noon on Thursday, Dec. 23, and will remain closed through the Christmas week
