Ten more days and Ole St. Nick comes down your chimney or your front door if you don’t have a chimney. I know all the little kids are real excited. But lets keep in mind the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus’ birthday.
The community food drive is in its last stages, and donations of boxed food as well as canned food is still needed. For example, instant potatoes, stuffing, canned gravy, and cake mixes for dessert. Lets come together and help the area needy.
On Dec. 19 the Amissville Baptist Church, will have its Christmas Cantata at the 11 a.m. service. And the children’s program “How the Grinch Found Christmas” will be at 7 p.m. The 3tory is really good. The kids have all worked really hard to get it together. After the performance there will be a time of fellowship, and all the children, young and old, will get a bag of old fashioned Christmas candy and fruit.
The Bethel Baptist Church will have its Christmas special on Dec. 19, right after their morning service. I know that it will beTull of music, that choir is really good.
On Thursday, Dec. 9, the Amissville Community Association had its monthly meeting. Dr. Krebser spoke on development in the county as well as in Amissville. The Wildwood water system was discussed, and I for one am glad that the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors voted to table the “gift” at their Dec. 6 meeting.
