Graveside services were held Friday, Dec. 10 at Sperryville Cemetery with the Rev. Jon C. Heddleston.

Bessie Atkins

Bessie Annie Atkins, 85, of Sperryville died Sunday, Dec. 12 at Lignum Manor.
She was born July 24, 1914 in Sperryville to the late Frank and Virgie Dodson.
She was a member of Beech Spring Baptist Church in Sperryville.
Mrs. Atkins is survived by one son, Joseph T. Atkins and his wife, Sophie; two daughters, Virgie E. Atkins and Jean A. Sabol and her husband, Stephen, all of Culpeper; one brother, Vernon S. Dodson and his wife, Janice of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one sister, Mamie Atkins of Luray, five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph F. Atkins; four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 15 at Found and Sons Chapel with the Rev. John S. Farrar officiating.
Interment followed in Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Paul Curi^, Chris Queen, Mike Grant, Kenneth Atkins and John Marshall Dodson.
