The Policy Committee’s Charlotte Nichols discussed damage to the library walls caused by exhibitors, and reported on the committee’s proposal to revise ‘exhibit’ policies to deal with the problem. <
The committee’s revised policy stipulates that exhibitors must use art strips provided to hang their artwork or face loss of display privileges and fines for any damage; they must hang artwork only in the presence of the library director or chair of the Buildings and Grounds Committee; and only Rappahannock residents may hang artwork in the library. The board voted unanimously to approve these revisions.
Treasurer’s report
Treasurer Helen Platt’s report showed income of some $76,000 and expenditures of nearly $36,225 through the end of October,1999. The Library Fund summary indicated a balance of $331,788.75 at the end of the same period.
