Thanks to a partnership between Trash Free Rappahannock (TFR) and the local court system, supported by the Rappahannock Lions and other concerned community citizens, the roads to the county will be much cleaner.
Rather than having VDOT pay contract maintenance crews to pick up trash on all county roads, the new system uses an untapped resource: court-ordered community service workers. These are people who are ordered by the General District Court, the Juvenile Court and the Circuit Court to perform community service as part of their punishment.
