If you like gospel music, The Bethel Baptist church is hosting the group “Gold Tone” on Sunday, May 21 at 3 p.m. ,
Lunch will be served immediately following the morning service, around 1 p.m. This concert will beriefit the Cemetery Fund.
A belated happy birthday to Mrs. Julia Poe, who celebrated her 95th birthday op April 21. Her family and friends gave her a party at her home, and approximately 56 people attended. I think Mrs. Poe is one of the oldest people in Aipissville. If you know of anyone who is a native Amissvillian, please let me know. I would like to get a list together to put in our history on the Amissville Web Site; WWW.Amissville.com.
Speaking of the web site, the AACA is going to be putting the drawings for the “Welcome to Amissville” signfe on the web page. They will also be at Hackley’s and Mayhugh’s, so that all thfe members of the community can vote on the one they like the best. We are hoping to have the signs up by the first of September. If you would like to submit a drawing, pleaste contact me before our next meeting, which is May 11 at 7 p.m. at the Amissvillle Methodist Church.
