Hometown: Flint Hill Accomplishments: Rev. John Ross Pendleton was born and reared in Huntly, son of the late Samuel tDlark and Mary E. Pendleton.
On Sept. 10, 1955, he married the former Mabel Jett. Rev. Pendleton served on the Deacon Board of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Flint Hill from T955 until the Lord called him to preach in 1961. Rev. Pendleton has been the pastor of Promise Land Baptist Church near Washington for 24 years. Since his pastorship at Promise Land, many improvements and accomplishments have been made. He has given tirelessly of his time and finances to the church; When the new addition was added to Promise Land, Rev. Pendleton worked along beside the church members. Pastor John Pendleton is truly a man of God, a dynamic leader, and a true friend to all. Faith, family, friends and community are all very important to him. Before the illness of his wife, Mabel, Pastor Pendleton could always be found visiting and communing the sick and visiting the bereaved.
