training in a country setting, and to provide a painting retreat experience for urban artists^ Workshops are held throughout the year and address a variety of workshop formats, subjects and locations, from indoor studio painting to outside "on location” painting.
Painting workshops in oil, pastel, watercolor and colored pencil are conducted. The workshop formats vary from still life, figure, landscape, and figure in a landscape setting. Most workshops are designed for all levels of painting ability from beginner to professional artist, and beginning artists are welcomed.
Shimmering Meadows is an affiliate of The Art League School located in Alexandria. The Art League School has been teaching fine art for over 40 years and is known for its high standards and exceptional art instruction. Many of the artists who teach at Shimmering Meadows currently teach at The Art League School.
