These benefits aside, Mrs. McNear feels that the work you may do will give you as much as you give out; “I always look at volunteering as an opportunity, it’s great for the volunteers and it’s great for the community. Volunteering is not a job, it’s really an opportunity to be of service.
Rappahannock has a tremendous heritage of taking care of its own. People here seem to care about the local people, I think maybe its partly because we are so small... I think people find their lives are very enriched by giving their time and their skills and talents.”
Mrs. McNear would like to thank everyone who has helped out, with special thanks for those who drive so many miles each week to bring lunch at the Senior Center. She would also like to give thanks to the memory of Ethel Bailey, Frances Lyne and all the others who gave so much and are no longer with us.
