Cheri Woodward will be repeating her last year’s able performance as Master of Ceremonies. Various other Rappahannock notables will be appearing throughout the evening including: Pastors Wendell Grant, Merlin Shorb, and Jon Heddleston. Music will be performed by the Rappahannock County School Band, the Amissville Baptist Church Chorus, Lorraine Duisit, and the Lost River Bluegrass Band.
The Relay for Life is the annual fund raising event of the Rappahannock County chapter of the American Cancer Society. Most fundraising actually takes place before the event as Relay teams members solicits sponsors for themselves and their teams and through other activities such as bake sales and yard sales.
One team, the “Bennie L. Atkins Relay for Life Team” is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner at the Washington Fire Hall on April 29. There will be “allyou-can-eat” spaghetti with all the usual extras as well as door prizes and entertainment. Tickets are $8 for adults; $4 for children aged four to 12, and free for chil
