Ursula Johnson

Front Royal resident

Ursula Byrd Canard Johnson, 80, of Front Royal died Monday, April 17 at Winchester Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 21 at Royston Funeral Home in Marshall by the Rev. David Cleveland. Burial was in Ivy Hill Cemetery at Upperville.

Mrs. Johnson was born Oct. 21, 1919 in Fauquier County, daughter of the late George Cleveland and Annie Lewis Kerns Canard. She was the wife of the late Rinker Armstead Johnson.

Surviving are two daughters, Peggy J. Leathers of Strasburg and Carlotta J. Jury of Fairfax; four sisters, Bessie Heflin of Orange City, Fla., Cathryn Noiseux and Dorothy Frazier, both of Front Royal and Elizabeth Parsons of Ft. Pierce, Fla. and three brothers, Perry Canard of Amissville, James Canard of Woodstock and Bobby Lee Canard of Marshall.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren and a stepgreat-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Sonny Leathers, Jackie Sowers Jr., Benny Sowers, Travis Sprouse, Bobby Lee Canard and Julian Allen Canard.
