The election for the 31st District delegate's seat is still more than 15 months away, but the paperwork s well underway.
Persons who have filed as candidates for Del. Jay Katzen's (R) seat at the Virginia General Assembly were required to submit a non-election year "Candidate Campaign Committee Contributions .and Expenditures Report" with the Virginia Board of Elections by July 17.
Thus far, four Republicans have entered the race, and of those, two have already embarked on serious fundraising programs.
According to the reports, Midland builder Wendell P. "Dell" Ennis has raised the most money — $27,862.06 — followed by Rappahannock County direct mail marketing executive Walter Longyear, who has raised $11,745.27. r Diana W Dutton, of Galverton, reported only one $500 contribution to her campaign that she made to herself, and Kay Hayes, of Broad Run, has not begun
