A possible tragedy was averted Sunday night when a motorist traveling on U. S. 211 alerted the Rappahannock Sheriffs Office of a vehicle traveling east in the westbound lane west of Washington.
According to Maj. Chris Williams, Dep. Anthony Berry was dispatched immediately on the call, which came in at about 10:20 p.m.
Upon reaching the area, Dep. Berry intercepted the vehicle, a 1974 Honda Civic, pulling it over near the intersection with Tiger Valley Road.
Dep. Berry quickly concluded that the driver, Heather Margaret Creskoff, 23, of West Virginia, was intoxicated.
However, Creskoff, who had been most recently been living in Charlottesville, refused to take the alcohol level test that Dep. Berry attempted to administer, and was extremely uncooperative.
