The 51st annual CulpeperMadison-Rappahannock Farm Fair opens Thursday, July 27, at Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises (CAE) on Route 29, two miles south of Culpeper. This marks the first year that the traditional farm show is called the CMR Farm Fair. Why the change?
The CMR Farm Fair is organized and administered by a volunteer Board of Directors with the support of the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service. The Board is composed of five adult and two youth members from each of the three counties. Operating under the guidelines of their by-laws, the Board meets every third Thursday of each month.
Meetings are open to the public and are generally well attended by Board members, department leaders and VCE 4-H specialists. It was during the March 2000 Board meeting that a motion was passed to change the name of the CMR Farm Show to CMR Farm Fair.
