On July 12, the Huntly dumpster was closed, making trips
to the dump now take up to an hour for those of us north of Huntly. Many people are choosing to pay about $20 a month for a once a week pickup of their trash, and the bear population is soaring.
Now I realize a lot of research went into this decision, but I wonder how many people who made this choice have to travel an hour to dispose of their trash. I also wonder who will be responsible when the bears get aggressive and find week old trash worth mauling someone for.
