The Piedmont Environmental Council announces the appointment of Douglas Larson as Vice President of the organization. Mr. Larson will be based in the main office of PEC in Warrenton.
Founded in 1972, PEC serves nine counties of the Virginia Piedmont with offices in six localities.
The organization is dedicated to the preservation of the region and has encouraged the use of conservation easements on private land, as a means to ensure that open space and agricultural land remain viable. PEC is an advocate for land use planning and educates the public and officials in the region.
Douglas Larson has lived in Fauquier County for the past 23 years and is well known in the area. He was previously Director of the Airlie Foundation in Warrenton and currently serves on a number of community Boards including the Fauquier Hospital, The International Academy of Preventive Medicine, The Fauquier Hospital Foundation and the Fauquier Community Theatre.
