get to daddy's grave site before the funeral is over. Then, Agnes and her best friend Marian become fruit vendors to try to make ends meet since Agnes is on "the welfare;"
Marian notes about the husband's death that "we are here for a good time, not a long time."
In one of the truly hilarious exchanges between the two women, when discussing sex Agnes notes "I've got seven kids and not one organism to show for it!" Marian comes to a sad end, but not before she buys her best friend tickets to a Tom Jones concert, which Agnes must sell to pay off her kids’ debt to the loan shark for buying her a great dress to go out on her first date after widowhood.
A series of great happenstances occur, bring her faceto-face with the beloved Tom Jones, who rescues her, takes her and all the kids to his concert in a big limo, and sings "She's a Lady" to her during the performance. Herb and Njaomi both give this movie an A+.
It is sometimes difficult to understand the quite thick Irish accents, but persevere because it is worth the effort to enjoy this jewel of a film.
