We did not spend much time on top of the hill at the cemetery because it was very windy. They soon decided on the best place for his marker. A stake was driven into the ground to indicate where the marker would be placed when the weather permits.
There had been alot of talk and interest about the "Norman Flats." Some had other commitments for later on in the day, so those that continued were Mary Wiley, Mike Jackson, Wayne Baldwin and Sally Dwyer.
Mary Wiley had gone to Richmond and gotten a map that showed the boundaries of the "Flats." It ran from a cliff on Little Devil Stairs to the top of the Blue Ridge. It was in the vicinity of Little Hogback Mountain. Their ancestors, James and Lucy Gore Norman
